If your Brother printer is reading an error message stating "No toner" and/or showing a red X against one or more of the toners then there is a simple procedure to follow to reset the toner.
This method will work for the following printers:
- Brother HL-L3270 CDW
- Brother MFC-L3710 CW
- Brother MFC-L3730 CDN
- Brother MFC-L3750 CDW
- Brother MFC-L3770 CDW
- Brother DCP-L3550 CDW
Follow these instructions to reset the printer:
- Open the front cover of the printer (to access cartridges).
- With the cover open, simultaneously press the Back and Cancel (X) buttons. Then, press only the Back button. It may take several tries for this to work and for the reset menu to appear onscreen.
- Scroll through the menu to select a colour and yield to reset.
- It is a good idea to reset BOTH the STD and the HC capacity of the toner that is showing the error.
- The LCD will read "Accepted" once the reset is complete.
- Close the cover.
